KMF Architects partnered with Climate First Bank to transform an existing commercial space into a vibrant regional headquarters that reflects the bank’s mission of sustainability, innovation, and community investment. Located in the heart of St. Petersburg, the renovation reimagined the interior environment to support a modern banking experience while fostering collaboration, transparency, and employee well-being.

The project involved the complete renovation of approximately 5,500 square feet across two levels, creating a dynamic workplace that balances open collaboration with private workspaces. The design features a dramatic central atrium and open stair that visually and physically connect the floors, encouraging interaction among employees and reinforcing the bank’s culture of accessibility and teamwork. Extensive use of glass throughout the office maximizes natural daylight, provides visual connectivity, and supports an open, welcoming environment.

Inspired by Florida’s coastal landscape, the interior design incorporates vibrant blues, organic textures, and modern finishes that evoke water, sky, and sustainability. Flexible meeting spaces, private offices, collaborative work areas, and employee amenity zones were thoughtfully integrated to support a variety of work styles while accommodating future growth.

As Florida’s first FDIC-insured community bank founded to combat the climate crisis, Climate First Bank sought a workplace that would embody its forward-thinking values. KMF worked closely with the client to deliver a space that reflects environmental responsibility, innovation, and a commitment to creating positive community impact.
