KMF Architects designed a 15,000-square-foot expansion to the City of Casselberry City Hall that reimagines civic space as a vibrant extension of the surrounding park and community. The project was envisioned as more than an addition to an existing government building—it was designed to strengthen connections between residents, nature, art, and civic life.

Located adjacent to one of the City's most active public gathering spaces, the expansion draws inspiration from the energy and character of the surrounding environment. The nearby splash pad, a beloved destination where families gather, children play, and community events unfold, became a central design influence. Its ability to bring together art, nature, and people informed the architectural vision for the project.

The design reflects the colors, movement, and textures found throughout the park landscape. Playful accents at the pedestrian level create an inviting and engaging experience for visitors, while a large perforated metal screen system introduces depth, shade, and a visual connection to the tree canopies that define the site. Together, these elements create an architectural expression that is both contemporary and uniquely connected to Casselberry's identity.

The expansion includes a large multipurpose community space, outdoor patio areas, storage facilities, and offices for multiple City departments. The building is carefully oriented to strengthen circulation through the site, creating a welcoming arrival sequence that connects parking areas, park amenities, and both City Hall entrances. This organization encourages interaction and reinforces the relationship between the civic campus and the broader community.

Respecting the character of the existing City Hall while introducing a fresh and contemporary architectural language, the project creates a dynamic civic destination that celebrates community engagement, artistic expression, and the natural beauty of Casselberry.
