The Orange County Sheriff's Office Sector V Substation is a new 16,000-square-foot law enforcement facility designed to support the Sheriff's Office's growing operational needs while providing a highly functional, resilient, and community-focused presence within the district it serves.

The facility consolidates administrative, investigative, training, and support functions under one roof, creating an efficient workplace for deputies, detectives, supervisors, and specialized response teams. Program elements include briefing and training spaces, investigative offices, evidence storage, interview rooms, fitness facilities, locker rooms, equipment storage, and public-facing areas designed to enhance accessibility and engagement with the community.

The building's architectural design reflects the mission and identity of the Sheriff's Office through a clean, durable material palette and a distinctive exterior screening system that plays to the history of the Sheriff’s star badge. Perforated metal panels provide visual interest while helping define the facility's character and presence within the community.

Designed as a Risk Category IV essential facility, the substation is engineered to remain operational during and after major emergency events. The building incorporates resilient building systems, durable materials, and secure operational spaces to support uninterrupted public safety services when they are needed most. In support of Orange County's sustainability goals, the project is being designed to achieve LEED Silver certification, promoting energy efficiency, environmental responsibility, and long-term operational value.
