KMF Architects designed the Carl Black and Gold Cabana, a premium hospitality venue located within the east side of the University of Central Florida's Spectrum Stadium. Conceived as both a game-day destination and a flexible event space, the project transformed an underutilized portion of the stadium into a vibrant gathering place that enhances the fan experience while generating new opportunities for engagement and revenue.

Selected by UCF to lead the project from design through construction administration, KMF was challenged to create an environment that would energize the stadium's east side while remaining adaptable for a variety of university and community events. The result is a distinctive, beach-inspired hospitality space that reflects Central Florida's unique character and creates a relaxed, social atmosphere unlike any other venue within the stadium.

To create the new club experience, a portion of the existing stadium seating was carefully removed and reconfigured, allowing for the introduction of a premium indoor-outdoor venue with panoramic views of the playing field. By opening the structure to the stadium bowl, the design establishes a direct visual connection to the game while providing guests with upgraded amenities, comfortable gathering spaces, and an immersive viewing experience.

Beyond football game days, the Carl Black and Gold Cabana was designed as a flexible event venue capable of hosting alumni gatherings, corporate functions, donor events, recruiting activities, and special university celebrations. The adaptable layout and premium atmosphere allow the space to serve as a year-round asset for the university.

The completed project demonstrates how thoughtful design can transform existing facilities into dynamic destinations that enhance campus life, strengthen community engagement, and elevate the overall stadium experience. Today, the Carl Black and Gold Cabana serves as one of Spectrum Stadium's premier hospitality venues, providing UCF fans and guests with a memorable and uniquely Central Florida experience.
