Located in the heart of downtown Orlando, 55 West is a 33-story residential tower whose 4,450 SF lobby renovation reimagined the arrival experience as a vibrant destination for connection and community. KMF Architects  with interior design by ReDesign, transformed the outdated lobby, lounge, bar, and restroom spaces into a modern, hospitality-inspired environment that encourages residents and guests to linger, socialize, and recharge.

Rather than serving as a simple point of entry, the redesigned lobby functions as the social heart of the building. A welcoming lounge offers a variety of gathering spaces, from communal high-top seating beneath sculptural lighting to intimate lounge areas for smaller conversations. A new bar, grand piano, and integrated audio system create an inviting atmosphere where live music and curated soundscapes enhance the resident experience.

The renovation also embraces evolving residential lifestyles by incorporating a high-capacity package room and thoughtfully integrating management offices into the open community space using acoustically rated glass partitions that balance transparency, privacy, and accessibility. A rich, biophilic material palette, paired with sophisticated finishes throughout the lobby and restrooms, evokes the comfort and character of a boutique hotel while reinforcing a sense of relaxation and belonging.

By transforming underutilized common areas into dynamic social spaces, the 55 West renovation demonstrates how thoughtful design can strengthen community, elevate everyday experiences, and redefine what it means to come home.
